A solution to this problem is only one: not to choose a restyled German 1,6L motor. In the second generation of the model, they got rid of this problem. 2. Automatic transmission. When choosing a second-hand Citroen C4, pay attention to manual gearboxes: they work properly and are stable for more than 100 thousand km. Having Difficult time with semi automatic box. In normal driving the gearbox is fine, the 1st to 2nd change is very clunky whether you are in auto mode or manual, manual mode seems slightly smoother but not much. But hill starting and moving in very dense traffic is awful. Yes I know how to slowly release the (poorly shaped) handbrake on a hill
Hi I haven’t had my C4 GP 2014 semi automatic 62 k miles since early October It just wouldn’t start one day and had to be recovered to my mechanic, he is at his wits end trying to figure out what is wrong with it, it has started a few times since but generally won’t start and shows , parking brake fault, gear box fault , service light on and gear in -M
I'm lucky enough to have unlimited access to a fully equipped workshop where I work with two post ramp, transmission jacks and air tools. To do this you need to remove everything above the gearbox including the battery tray to access the gearbox mount. You also have to remove the whole front subframe from underneath the car and also both

Hello All. I have just bought a 2010 Grand Picasso. Its got a very slow change from first to second then progressively faster changes upward. I want to change the transmission fluid. Easily found the drain plug. Where is the filler cap or plug? Regards Whitworth

Oh, and there’s a new engine and gearbox combination on offer. Namely a big 160bhp diesel with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, for peak big French car waft-ability. And peak big French car
I'm looking for advice / warnings / reassurance on the semi-automatic Berlingo! We are keen to get a used Multispace (our budget seems to point us to the 2015 to 2017 versions) which, as you likely know, has the ETG6 semi-auto gearbox. However, we are hearing warnings (from other forums, people we know) about the unreliability of the gearbox. That is the official Citroen way to do it, if yours works then great, if not then you will need to hook it up to Lexia/Proxia. Answered by Graham Smith · 9 June 2016. You'll have trouble selling it without getting the transmission fixed, so I would recommend that you take it to a transmission specialist and at least get it assessed and quoted so you know what you're up for. I doubt that the trade would be interested in it, unless you could perhaps convince a Citroen
A burning smell in a car is never a good sign, so when it comes to the gearbox, a burning smell can be the result of transmission fluid overheating. If the fluid system fails, then other parts of the system will suffer as a result. Transmission fluid acts as lubricant and a cooling agent for the moving parts of a transmission. As they are in
Joined: Jan 08 2016. Location: Cambridgeshire. Hi, I need some advice about our 2007 C4 Grand Picasso auto petrol. When it changes gears it makes an awful banging sound. We have been told the gearbox oil needs topping up but I've read on here that you shouldn't need too. Any advice would be appreciated.
Hi all, for the last week or so occasionally my 2007 C4GP 2.0HDi with tradition automatic gearbox will disengage cruise control as the gearbox has a "hiccup" Its more of a judder that I can feel and it normally happens when the car tries to slow down (eg, cruise is on, I've just gone up a hill and the road flattens off, so the motor backs off, that's when I feel a judder and at the same time
Had exactly this problem with my semi auto Peugeot 3008 - took it to my local Peugeot garage who quoted me £3900 and car only worth about £4.5k so not really an option! Contacted a mate who knew a guy and he has taken my car apart and yeah flywheel is broken and needs a clutch as well as slave cylinder . 8. Citroen C4 Picasso – EGS automatic gearbox problems. This multimode gearbox offers a nice drive when in good fettle. However, there are well known gremlins such as jittery changes and a reluctance to change up or down. Some cars can make a chattering noise when idling in gear that may signal a clutch pack renewal. We tested a 1.6 HDi in mid-level VTR+ spec with the semi-automatic gearbox, which is optional on the 1.6-litre cars but fitted as standard to the 2.0-litres. The entry-level model is the 1.6 VTi
Came up with "gearbox fault" and that error code 1704 - gear selector coherence fault. Had trouble selecting between 'R', 'N', 'A1', 'M'. When trying to start even in 'N' and foot on brake to start - it would often STILL give the select 'N' and put foot on brake message - so wouldn't start.

Looking on this site the U1113 code means there is a problem with the communcation between the automatic gearbox and the ABS( ESP). Does anyone have any ideas where to start looking? The automatic handbrake is locked on and my guess is the place to start is the electrical connections/wiring and maybe the ABS.
